Report: Car Pedal Lock

In this report I am going to talk about different engineering processes used in
producing the car pedal lock. I am going to talk about advantages and drawbacks
of engineering processes used in producing a Car pedal lock compared with
other methods. I will also be detailing about the effectiveness of these ways of
the production, and how they perform. How human factors can affect the
production from an individual prospect and from a team’s point of view. And lastly
how the regulations for health and safety works.

Hacksaw
Hacksaws are used to cut metals. This tool is very appropriate and practical for
this task, since it is affordable, and the blades are constructed from high speed
steel. This type of steel is very strong, can with stand higher temperatures
without losing its hardness.

The hacksaw utilizes mostly on the user’s power and requires strength to cut. It
has a U- shaped frame and on the end, there is a handle. A hacksaw has tiny,
powerful pins at the lower end that makes a blade. It cuts by moving the sharp
frame back and forth. This friction generally causes a high temperature which
makes the drill bits lose temper, but since the pins are made from High-Speed
Steel (HSS) therefore they do not lose temper and can generally withstand high
temperature. This type of saw leaves usually a fine finish since it has about 14 to
32 TPI (Teeth Per Inch).

, Advantages of hacksaws
The most important pros of the hacksaw are that:

- It is small and compact, which makes it easily transportable
- Does not need any power outlet,
and are light weighted
- Hacksaws are considerably less expensive

Disadvantages of the Hacksaw
Hacksaw it very useful and practical, but it has some cons as they are:

- It requires strength to operate
- Cannot perform on very large objects
- Takes time to finish
- Can break if twisted or used incorrectly

Comparison between Hacksaw and Tin Snips
Tin snips are small scissors with a reinforced blade which makes it able to cut
throw thin sheets of metal.

- The hacksaw is better since it can cut throw thicker sheets of metal and on
larger workpieces
- Tin Snips are much more compact than the Hacksaw, which makes it
easier to hold in a pocket in a working environment
- Tin snips can only cut throw thin pieces
- The tin snip has a shorter blade this makes it easier to get unwanted
curves
