Most campaigns main aims are to make changes in the law, policies,raise
awareness and change attitudes. Policies are plans and actions of governments for
example police, courts, schools and the NHS. Laws set out guidelines and standards
that the government agencies must follow (for example the law lays down the
circumstances in which a “stop and search” policy can be carried out). Raising
awareness is trying to make members of society more known to in this case different
crimes, for example “honour” crime is not very well known in the uk. Changing
attitudes is thinking more positively about a certain group or individual.

because they have a criminal record. By doing this, unlock believes this would stop
recidivism (going back into prison).One of their aims is to change policies, for
example working with the government to create an opportunity for gay men who
were convicted of now de-criminalised convictions to get overturned. And to set up
bank accounts for people in prison ready for when they get released.

It was originally established by a group of reformed offenders, who had successfully
rebuilt their lives. The reformed offenders wanted every ex-convict to turn out like
them and live a normal life.
