Introduction to assignment and features of both businesses
In this assignment I will be investigating both businesses Lloyds bank and medicin san
frontiers (MSF). I will be comparing both ideas and writing down each detail as to how the
two businesses contribute and benefit society, also I will be writing details on how the
businesses are functioning and how they operate.
Medicin San Frontiers (MSF)
MSF is a succeeding charity organisation; it works internationally saving many people in
need and that are suffering significantly. It is a non-profit organisation and 10% of their
income usually comes from the government however 90% of it comes from donations. MSF
was founded in December 22 in 1971, during that time of the organisation there was only a
maximum of 300 volunteers within the organisation including doctors' nurses and other
staff including the 13 founding doctors and journalists who helped to develop the
organisation into a success. MSF provides medications and treats people who have been
affected by conflicted warzones significantly. Most of their actions are guided by medical
ethics and they also conduct many researches on diseases, and they are aiming for better
cures.
MSF charity can be discovered throughout many features and those features have
significant details as to how MSF has their own way of becoming successful. The main
feature of MSF is that’s its ownership is a non-profit organisation meaning that its mostly
supported by donations and volunteers they are a worldwide movement of 67,000 also their
actions are mainly guided by neutrality, independence and principles of impartiality. MSF
has a significant purpose within the charity industry this is because due to their medics and
doctors they have managed to save a significant amount of lives etc. MSF purpose is
significant towards the charity this is because they supply many resources, products and
services such as food products and they provide products that they can use in order to help
the people in need such as medications in which the countries that MSF works has
unaffordable medications, their mission is to provide medical care to those most in need, to
aid population in distress, MSF purpose is also to provide new projects in which it can save
many lives along with their new successful programmes to treat people ad help to serve
them. As the MSF charity is based within the non-for-profit organisation as it doesn’t have
much responsibilities nor owners, however a for-profit organisation would have to take care
of paying for taxes based on their net income however non-for-profit charities are exempt
from paying income taxes. MSF is based within the tertiary sector this is because its
addressed as a service and its operating to serve people who are in deep need and it mainly
treats all the people who are living in poverty MSF is an international charity as it travelled
more than 60 countries world widely.
MSF is within the large size industry this is because it has over 30,000 staff operating within
the charity all over the world. The main reason for success for MSF is that as a non-profit
organisation they have achieved every detail step by step in order to because successful for
example the main factor is cost effective, MSF had more staff that resources than materials
as they built up teams at the start providing more care to people than the use of resources
, and products this helped them significantly as it helps the income to increase each year and
they end up with assets and liabilities increasing every 5 years at 30%, this also shows how
they had the use of clarity of vision, even though they were a non-profit organisation they
still found their way of increasing their income. During 2008 to 2010 the cash availability had
majorly increased which has made a significant impact towards Medecins Sans Frontieres
and they were able to develop their charity significantly by purchasing many goods and
many medical supplies along with medicines and that way they were able to make a major
progress within the charity by treating people and proving programmes and projects. The
charity's main aims and objectives is to provide quality medical care to people in crisis
regardless of their race, religion or political affiliation, so no matter how the atmosphere is
they will risk their own life just to save people in need and this can make them successful as
they can bring awareness towards social medias and newsletters etc. Iut can build their
reputation majorly. They always plan innovative processes or products as it's their objective
to make projects such as building buildings for the poor and providing programmes.
