Acknowledgements

This research was made possible thanks to the wonderful Early Years team at
Sussex University. I would like to say thank you to the amazingly passionate,
generous, knowledgeable, and fascinating tutors on the course. Socks and
sandals are now part of my everyday life.

Thank you to my nursery school, the experienced teachers and staff that allowed
me to learn from them and help build my understanding of early years. I
appreciate everything you have done for me over the two and a half terms I
volunteered at the school. Thank you for being patient and giving me direction
and support whenever I needed it.

Most importantly, without the children this study would not exist. Being a part of
their journey through their earliest years has kept me going and reaffirmed my
love for working with children and the reason for doing this research in the first
place.
