Lord of the Flies Summary Chapter 1-9
CH1
A plane was crashed in the ocean. And only a group of boys survived. Ralph was walking around the
Island and met an other boy on it. His name is piggy. Together they find a shelf witch makes a loud
noise. Then Ralph blew that horn and slowly a group of boys gathered. They had a meeting and chose
Ralph to be the leader. Then ralph goes exploring with Simon and Jack to find out if they where on an
Island and they where. Piggy stayed with the group and learned their names. After exploring Ralph,
Jack and Simon headed back to the platform where the group was staying.
CH2
After coming back from the expedition there is a meeting the next day. Ralph tells the group that
they are on an inhabited island and he starts setting up rules. A small boy with a mark on his face said
that he saw something that he named a beastie. But the group didn’t believe him. Ralph suggested to
make a fire on the top of the mountain for help and after the meeting the group immediately went to
the mountain to make the fire. They accomplished to make a fire but it didn’t last long. The fire
created fire in the woods of the island. And the boys had a meeting. Piggy thought that the boys
didn’t act wisely. And noticed that no one was watching the small kids and mentioned that the one
with the mark on it’s face was missing. This made Ralph feel ashamed.
CH3
This chapter starts with jack hunting for pigs. He really wants to catch one but couldn’t. Ralph has
started to make huts on the beach but he only gets help from Simon. This makes it hard to make
them complete. All the other boys are wondering around and playing. After helping Ralph Simon
starts wondering around the island.
CH4
In the beginning of the chapter it goes about the daily rhythm of the boys. And you get introduced to
everyone. The day goes by and the boys are entertaining themselves. Jack is hunting and made a
mask so the pigs don’t see him. While Ralph is looking at the horizon he spots a ship. He spotted the
smoke but noticed that he couldn’t see smoke coming from the island. He runs to it and he sees it is
out and that the ship is gone. Than he sees Jack who finally had caught a pig. He caught it with the
group of boys who where supposed to keep the fire on. While Jack and the boys are very stoked
about the catch. Ralph gets very angry on them and tells them that they should have kept the fire on.
Than they could have been rescued. Jack apologies and kind of sets it right. The put the fire on and
gather around it and cook the pig. The boys are dancing around the fire and showing how they catch
the pig. And on the end Ralph suddenly announced that he wants to have a meeting down at the
platform.
CH5
Ralph is walking down the beach preparing himself for the assembly. He reminds himself of the
points he wants to say. And he wants the assembly to be serious and to set things clear. This is the
latest assembly they have had. And Ralph begins talking about the fire and that it is very important to
keep it burning. He also tells the group about how they changed and that they need to start finishing
things. He also sets a new rule that the boys can’t make or use a fire besides the fire on the
mountain. After Ralph had said this the other boys got the conch. And they started discussing about
