Following the attack on London bridge, new security measures were put in place on 8
London bridges these were concrete barriers. Several underground stations were closed.

Following the Ariana Grande concert, attractions suffered a 17% decrease from May to
September.

After the attack more security measures were put in place at many events and attractions
such as bag checks.

While domestic tourists were put off, inbound tourists were not as the UK hit a record
number of tourists in 2017.

Due to the One love Manchester concert Inbound tourists were drawn to the UK.

7%. Inbound tourists feel safe in the UK so this factor hasn’t affected the tourism industry
that much.

There has also now been an epidemic of stabbings mainly in the capital of the UK and
because the Mayor of London is taking action to prevent future stabbings domestic and
inbound tourists are still travelling through the UK.

Accessibility
Companies are starting to make their buildings and locations more accessible because it
gains more customers.

Only around 8% of disabled people use a wheelchair.People with health conditions spend
£12 billion a year on tourism in England.

The purple pound reported the average length of stay is 3.3 nights with an average spend of

Attractions such as The Science Museum and Cadbury World have become accessible as
they offer large print, makaton, braille, subtitled videos and props that customers can touch
and feel for disabled tourists and tourists with an impairment.
