TASK 1 – P4

Disaster Recovery Policy

The Disaster Recovery Policy is there for any inconvenient disaster happened, for example if
an earthquake hit or a flood. By having a disaster recovery policy in place, it helps so that the
employees know how to act and how to make sure that they are able to get to the nearest
safe place or to get to the exits in a safe manor, so no one gets hurt.
Also, in any company a Disaster Recovery Plan needs to be made as a protocol as you never
know what could happen or when it could happen. By making sure you already have a plan in
place it means that you are more prepared and a company like ITFix which has a lot of
electrical equipment if there was a flood a lot of those items could be destroyed which would
cost a lot to repair if they didn’t have insurance.
Furthermore, if ITFix has insurance a lot of insurance companies require to see or get told
about the Disaster Recovery Policies that are already in place. This is to ensure the safety of
those at both companies as ITFix is responsible for what happens to their employees and they
need to make sure they are all safe if there were a disaster that occurred.

Updating of Security Procedures

Security Procedures are when there are predetermined updates that are done, and reviews of
the security procedures are carried out on a regular basis so that everything is up to date.
Also, by making sure that the security policies are up to date it means that they can be
calibrated to detect the newest threats, however if the updates weren’t done regularly the
newer threats could easily bypass the security as it wouldn’t be able to detect it.
When doing these updates, it could take a toll on the computer systems by making them a
little slower as the software may need to be updates and also sometimes the software needs
to have a test run in order to make sure that the software update did work in the way it was
needed. If there weren’t any tests done, then ITFix and the technicians wouldn’t be sure if the
update worked or not and this could be compromising on ITFix as a company meaning that
customers may not trust them anymore which could then result in less traffic coming in and less
customers.

Scheduling of Security Audits

The scheduling of Security Audits need to have regular intervals on a physical and networked
system. These schedules are mainly done at random times so that the employees don’t know
that they are happening, this could be effective to see what is happening on a daily basis, so
that the employees are doing their normal routine instead of changing it because they know
that something may be happening.
