1) Continuous variable data within the excel spreadsheet are: weight, height, hatsize, finger size, forearm size and hip size. This is due to the variable not being
under a category as it can fluctuate per individual and it can have a different
number of values. Furthermore on the continuous data, weight can decrease and
increase depending on lifestyle and the other factors: height, hat size, finger size)
can alter due to ageing and medical conditions, such as arthritis (Paget’s
disease). This can cause enlarged bones and give a different reading in
measurement (Bones.nih.gov, 2018).
The ordinal variable is age; age will only alter annually and will go up in numerical
order. Finally, categorical variables are: gender and eye colour; this is due to only
limited fixed values: brown eyes, blue eyes – male and female.
1c) The total count of the continuous variables calculated to a total sum of 24723.7,
this will average out to a mean that is equivalent to 159.507, the median is 92 and
the mode consists of two numbers: 260 and 230.

2b) Between the finger length in the same individual on both the right and left hand,
there are strong positive relationships between the two different hands as they have
the same characteristics and value range as they are similar in shape and size.
2c) The factors that can alter and impact the results between the relationship of
finger length and handedness can be due to different sexes within the group study.
