Week 3 Discussions - Topic 3: Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs (Required)After reading and analyzing Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs pyramid, I would say I am mainly in pursuit of
fulfilling my basic needs while being mindful of my talents and incorporating self-actualization in the
process. People on my job call me the “coupon junkie”, which to me is a prized name. I believe in saving
money at all angle, if I am able to, so I constantly clip coupons for groceries, personal needs, Macy’s and I
sometimes search online for places that offer discount when I order in or a discount to make a larger
online purchase. Once my basic needs are met and everything else between, I start to self-actualize by
being on the road to completing my BA in Business after being out of school for 16 years. As Maslow’s
Hierarchy of Needs indicate my self-actualization involves a strong sense of purpose and self-awareness
in making sure my basic needs are met while at the same time acquiring the necessary academic skills to
achieve career fulfillment. I endeavor to reach the highest in my academics and even though it is taking
me a while to get there I eventually will, because of the anticipated growth in the industry where I
currently work.
