This work covers all the criteria for P3 and M3 in Public Services Unit 29: Security Procedures. I achieved a merit within this assignment and I achieved a Distinction in this unit by Pearsons Edexcel in 2022. I hope this helps!
Security Plan:
Types of Security Measures – P3
Within security there are three main types, these include dynamic, physical, and procedural.
There are many physical strategies which can be put in place to protect people’s safety and the
premises during CTFS (Technique Football Stadium). An example of this is perimeter fencing,
this is a structure which circles around the area to prevent people from accessing it without
permission. This is one of the first thing people will usually notice, it is usually either a high brick
wall or barbed wire. By using these types of fences, it may slow down, disrupt, and delay the
person attempting to get inside. A different type of situational security is spotlights. Spotlights
can take away a person's attempt to use darkness as a cover and to go unnoticed. By using this
type of security, it acts as a deterrent and may put people off entering the premises when they
are not allowed, as they do not know what to expect. The CTFS use doors and window locks as
a form of security to stop people from entering the building when not meant to. It also stops
people from entering restricted areas when football matches or events are happening in
general. If there are noticeable locks on the windows and doors it may deter the person
attempting to get into the stadium, due to how much work and time it will take to break them.
CCTV is particularly important when it comes to security at the CTFS. Since the football stadium
is excessively big, it will be hard for every single spot to have security guards. By having CCTV, it
is live footage making it easier for security guards to notice a situation faster, that they might
not have noticed being on the same level as them. Along with this if a crime is committed and
security did not know it was happening, they will have evidence of how the crime was started
and a good description of the person who did it. This could help the investigation and can be
used as evidence. It is crucial to have control over who enters and exits the CTFS since it will be
the main point of an attack. Since many people attend football matches and events it makes the
CTFS an easy target as they have many people who will be attending. For example, if they were
allowed into the stadium and security was not checked they could set a bomb off in the
reception where everyone is before the game. This can result in people's lives being injured and
lost, along with the premises being destroyed. By having control, it will help minimize the
chance of an attack.
