, Introduction
Operations and Service Management is the function of Management that shows how an
organization produce goods or service. The management involves tasks, issues and decisions
essential to organise and manage processes efficient. ( Slack and Brandon-Jones, 2018) This
report will describe and interpret the tools and processes involved in operations and services
management. The report will be divided into two main tasks, first has a role to describe and
interpret the Risk and Risk Management in the study case proposed and the second task has a
role to explain and summarise several possible techniques which can inform decision making for
Business Operations and Services. The whole report will be based on Toyota Motor Corporation
manufacturing process and their Operations Management.
Company Description
Toyota Motor Corporation is a global motor vehicle productions and sales company established
in Toyota city, Japan in 1937. The company is one of the world's largest and most ideal car
makers. Additionally, it is the leader in eco-friendly and innovative cars. According to Annual
Report 2019 Toyota Motor Corporation has 67 plants and manufacturing companies worldwide,
most of them are divided in Europa, Asia, North America. The company has 167 distributors,
370.870 staff worldwide and is producing not only in the 17 Japanese factories but also in 67
other locations in 26 countries. In 2019 Toyota had total unit of 8,985,186 cars production and
8,976,795 cars sales with an annual turnover of 30,225.6 billion US-Dollars. Toyota’s car
making is recognized by its volume, manufacturing and trading more than 10,000,000 units per
year worldwide. The cars are split in full line-up, varying in commercial vehicles, eco-cars, and
GR sports cars, from compact to full-size cars. Line up involving Toyota brand, Lexus brand and
Toyota GAZO Racing. The company enjoys numerous long-selling models still in production
more than 50 years after their launch, such as the Land Cruiser, Crown, HiAce, and Century. The
models and units manufactured is growing. Starting with the fourth-generation Prius in 2015, the
company have gradually developed the range of models based on TNGA, including the mid-size
