Methods of fitness training

Strength
The component of fitness strength, is known for the extent at which any muscle can exert as much
force as possible while contracting against resistance.
This can be done with very minimal or no equipment at all, for instance bodyweight exercises fits
that category.

One method for when training to improve strength is weight training.
When weight training for strength it requires all training exercises to have an increase in weight
with fewer reps. (High intensity, low volume)
With every strength training workout session that is done there are a few variables that should
always be included.
• The exercises that are chosen.
• The order those exercises are done in.
• The number of sets done in each exercise.
• The resistance.
• And the rest taken between each set.
Weight training is very relevant for the improvement of strength, it helps to increase the muscles
strength, of which the group that's being worked by applying a weight or force against the muscle
to make it work harder and become stronger; the more weight that is applied the lower the reps
will have to be but the muscle will slowly gain even more strength over time; training session’s
should be done up to 3-4 times a week to receive the most benefits.
Some of the beneficial purposes of training for strength is also the health rewards, it will preserve
your bone density, helps with muscular weakness and reduce the risk of osteoporosis.

Flexibility
Flexibility is the range of motion that the joints in the body have to be able to move freely.
It's also considered the opposite way round, referring to the greater mobility of the muscles which
will allow the muscles to be able to move more around the joints. (Ricketts, D)

A method of training that is well known for being able to improve flexibility is PNF stretching.
PNF stretching (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation) when performed causes the muscles to
eccentrically contract, the benefits that should come with this method of training is having greater
range of motion in the joints.
