Unit 21- Assignment 2

21/C.P5: Plan an appropriate induction programme for a
group of new starters in a selected business using own
research.

Induction:
Induction is the process of introducing a new employee to the company culture and
processes with the aim of familiarising them with company policies and procedures and
helping them adjust to their new roles and working environment. Tesco will use
inductions to enable new employees to meet colleagues, tour the workplace, outline
role and key responsibilities, and receive the necessary training on company health and
safety procedures.
Pre-Employment:
Pre-employment is a process where employers verify the identity, criminal record, and
credentials of a candidate. This stage will follow after an employee has been hired from
the company. Tesco would provide successful candidates with information packs
containing joining instructions, an employee handbook, and an official employment
contract, which must be reviewed and completed before the new employee’s start
date.
