, Question 1;
a) The Internet of Things (IoT) is the concept of connecting devices to
the internet that can collect or exchange data through wireless
networks without human intervention (Meola, 2022). “Things” are a
physical device with an embedded system that can share and
receive data.

Intelligent Speed Assist (ISA) is mentioned in the article. A car using
IoT can match the speed limit from the cars GPS to the driver’s
speed, the driver can then be made aware of the speed or in
autonomous cars, the speed altered to match the speed limit. In self
drive cars, the car will be able to read signs and alter speed
accordingly. In both scenarios, 5G connection within infrastructures
is required for reliability.

b) Latency is the amount of time it takes for data to move between two
points, in this case between the car and its environment. “ultra-low
latency” is required for autonomous cars to be successful, 5G
connectivity on infrastructure for ultra-fast communications is
required as well as connectivity between vehicles.

Word count: 50

c) Average latency for 4G = 49ms
Average latency for 5G = 1ms

Reduction in latency = change / initial latency

= 47/49
= 97.959 rounded to tenth of a percentage
= 98%
Thus, 98% decrease in latency once 5G is widely available.
