why you have chosen this syllabus type
why you have chosen the topic(s) covered
why you have chosen this target language/skill
the rationale behind the structure of the course, e.g., why is it in this order?
how the course will meet the learner’s needs
Why you have chosen this syllabus type:
Selecting the appropriate syllabus is very important to making sure that the lesson aims are met successfully, and that Alberto’s goals are met.
This is why I have used a multi-syllabus lesson plan.
I chose speaking and listening as my primary target skill because Alberto specifically said he needs to work on these. This is also clear from his
interview and needs analysis.
Alberto said that he would like to use authentic materials and that he enjoys the topics of the environment, humour and current affairs. He also
needs to improve his English to help him to get a job. He wants to improve his conversational English as well, not only for work purposes, but for
social contexts as well. A multi-syllabus lesson will let me utilise multiple platforms and keep Alberto interested through using associated
collocations, phrases and idioms with his intrinsic motivations for improving his English.
The lesson is well-balanced, entertaining, fun, and filled with interest peaking activities so that Alberto can be intrigues and not bored with the
activities which in turn will motivated him to work hard and learn more.
Why you have chosen the topic(s) covered:
I have chosen the topic of small talk and covering the syllabus in the first lesson to put Alberto at ease and to create a good rapport between him
