Welcome to Penzance
Access to Penzance-

If you are flying internationally to visit Penzance, the nearest
airport is Cornwall airport Newquay which is an hour and 14-
minutes away which is a distance of 41.4miles. If you are
coming by public transport it will take you around 3 to 4 hours
as you will have to catch various forms of public transport. However, this will not be much of an
issue as the connecting transport is relatively close together and is easy to navigate.

Penzance has quite a few bus stops that are spread around meaning that you won’t have to walk
around Penzance when you arrive. If you are flying nationally, Cornwall airport Newquay also has
this option. There are lots of direct flights that go there making it easily accessible. If you want to
travel nationally instead of flying, you can catch different types of public transport. The best option
would be to come by bus as Penzance has many available bus stops. Penzance is very accessible area
because it has many roads that go to it, it also has a large amount of buses and public transport that
go through and to the area, this will ensure that the tourists will have a easy time getting there.

Natural features-

Praa Sands Beach

One of the many natural coastal sights that Penzance has to
offer is the ‘Praa Sands Beach’. The beach is only one mile long
but has unnatural beauty to it. The sands are incredibly white
because it is mostly made of crushed up seashells that had
been crushed up and grounded by the oceans many crashing
waves. It is a good place for swimming and sunbathing.
Inexperienced swimmers can even swim there because there is
a lifeguard there every year from April to September which ensures that the tourists that are
swimming stay safe. Surfing is even allowed at the beach as the waves get big enough, so if your
planning to come down to Penzance then get ready to do some surfing.

The beach is located between two headlands called Hoe Point and Rinsey Head. The beach is only
around a 15-minute drive away making it very accessible to the tourists who come to Penzance. The
beach is near places that you can go to eat which makes finding food way more easier to get to.

Built attractions

Minack Theatre
The Minack theatre is a world-famous theatre which is
outside. The entire theatre was carved directly into a
granite cliff that over looks the coast from a cliff. This
beautiful theatre is loved by many and puts on many
popular plays such as ‘Show of Hands’ and ‘Our House’.
These are just some of the many shows that the theatre
puts on out the front of the coast. For these reasons, the

, Minack Theatre is incredibly busy when there is a show, it is a good place to go if you want
to see a good performance being played as well as the views of the coast and the ocean
behind. So if you are a fan of theatre and have come to Penzance to see the coast as well
then this is the place for you. Prices for the Minack theatre are very affordable considering
they have so much to offer. They range between £1 to £6 depending on the age and if the
person is an adult. The theatre is located 28 minutes away from Penzance, even though this
may be far to go, it really is not as there is much to be enjoyed there.
The Jubilee Pool
It is an open aired pool on the Holy Headland of Penzance that was opened in 1935. The
pool is right on the coast and is only separated from the sea by a big barrier. Sea water itself
is what runs through the pool, to stop the water from overflowing, there are special gates
that control the amount of water that goes in and out of the pool. The pool is an impressive
100m to 73m in width, this means that there will be loads of space available to you even if
the pool starts to get crowed. It is a very popular place and provides a great few hours
swimming around. It even has a paddle pool near it for younger children. It is very family
friendly and is worth spending time at, especially for the small price you must pay.
The pool is open from May to September and costs only £4.25 per person to enter. The pool
opens at around 10:30am every day and closes 6pm (closes at 7pm if it is a Thursday), if you
come at 3.30pm you only have to pay half price to enter.
Types of accommodation
There are quite a few accommodations in Penzance, there are some that are on the
outskirts of Penzance and some that are in the centre. Depending on where you are
planning to visit, either or could suit you.
A good accommodation that is in the centre of Penzance is the Premier Inn that is in
Penzance.
The Premier Inn is a good place to stay if you want to be
near the centre of Penzance and are planning to do
something there. It is within minutes of the train station
and the bus station making it more accessible to people
when they arrive in Penzance by public transport. It has
a very reasonable price and is only £31 a night, this is a
good price seeing as it is close to most transport and has
some local attractions to visit nearby. Breakfast is all you can eat for £9 per person, this will
make worrying about getting a meal in the morning not an issue. The wi-fi there is free
which will come in handy for searching up things like public transport, they also have air
conditioning and free parking outside the accommodation for if they have decided to travel
down by car. Check in time is at 2:00pm and check out time is at 12:00pm which gives
people plenty of time to wake up and pack. Each room has a bathroom each which includes
a shower, bath, and a toilet.
