Shrewsbury//How it appeals to these tourists (inbound and domestic)

A UK family on a budget short break

For this family seeing as they are on a budget, I think that Shrewsbury would really appeal to them
as there are many cheap places there that provide much to do. I think that this family would be
attracted to Shrewsbury as it has many variates of cheap accommodation. Accommodation like the
‘Holiday Inn Express Shrewsbury’ which is £41 per night for any type of room there is also the ‘YE
OLDE BUCKS HEAD INN’ which is great for families and is at £65 a night. This would really appeal to
this family as they would have a good place to stay whilst not having to spend much money on their
accommodation. This would allow them to have more money to spend on alternative things to do.

When it comes to attractions, there are many attractions that would attract this family to
Shrewsbury. Attractions like the Shrewsbury Quarry, which is one of the many parks of Shrewsbury,
it has a lovely array of flower beds and provides a lovely walk and it is all free. This would really
appeal to the family in a big way as it would allow them to enjoy a fun day out or a fun few hour
without having to spend any money. If they are wanting to do a different walk there is also ‘The
Dingle’ walk that is free to go on and has many beautiful flower beds to look at, in the summer there
is a flower shop there and sometimes a display of fireworks. This would really appeal to the family as
they could come down to Shrewsbury in the summer and enjoy a free firework show and a range of
flowers for sale that they could look at. This would give them something fun to do whilst not having
to spend any money which they could save for a bigger event.

These are just some of the examples of what Shrewsbury has to offer, there are many free forms of
entertainment and well valued accommodation that I think would really appeal to this family in a big
way. They can still enjoy a day out in Shrewsbury but not have to spend lots of money or any at all
on activities. The accommodation I think really would appeal to the family as the rooms are quite
cheap and can accommodate for the whole family. There are many things there which would help to
make for a well-priced short holiday for this family, it is even better that they are domestic which
means that Shrewsbury would be more accessible to them.

Young Japanese tourists with an interest in shopping

For these tourists who are coming to the UK for shopping I think that they should go to Shrewsbury
as it would really appeal to them in many ways. The reason being Shrewsbury has many shopping
malls which would really accommodate the needs of these tourists. Shopping malls like the Pride Hill
Shopping Centre, which is quite different to the other shopping malls. It would really appeal to them
in a big way as it has a large variety of stores. The shopping centre has many different types of store,
it does not just have the average stores that you would normally find, it also has many smaller and
less recognised stores. Stores like ‘GreenGinger’ which sells cards, gifts and souvenirs which I think
would really appeal to these tourists as it is one of the many stores there that are only available in
Shrewsbury which would allow the tourists to experience a new type of store of which they may
have never seen before. Another store they could go to is called ‘Mollies’ and it sells a wide variety
of American candy; the store is mostly based in the UK. This store would really appeal to them in
many ways as it would give them a new experience in the different types of foods which can be
purchased.

As well as there being home based stores, there are also the classical worldwide popular stores that
would be less appealing to the Japanese tourists but still fun for them experience how the UK sets up
these stores. They would appeal to them in an interesting way for them and they could have a look
around the stores and see how they have been set up different. An example is Claire’s, it is a
