Explain the challenges of globalisation facing a selected business when
using the internet as a marketing tool – P6
Introduction
Within this document I will be explain the challenges of globalisation for
Amazon.com in a competing global market place when they use the internet as a
marketing tool. I will also be giving a few examples of their internet marketing
competitors as well.
What is Amazon.com?
Amazon is an American international electronic E-commerce company. It is the
largest online retailer in the world. Amazon are a global online retailer as well.
Amazon was founded in 1994, which made them the first E-commerce website in
the world. Amazon offers everyone with access to the internet to get products
that they might not see in their country. In my opinion this a good feature of
Amazon.com because people that want a certain product but can’t get it, can go
online and order the product from another county on the Amazon.com website.
24 hour service online
Amaozn.com is up and running 24 hours a day so there that means they are also
available without no interruption for everyone around the world who wants to
buy a product. The 7 days a week and 24 hours a day feature is a big bonuses for
their customer because they can buy on their website any time they want,
moreover, amazon also don’t stop making profit because people order every
second due to their 24 hour a day service.
Lastly, Amazons 24/7 service will attract more customers to come back to their
website to buy more products and will ultimately make Amazon more and more
profit every year due to internet access getting easier and easier for more and
more people around the world.
Payment security
When people go on Amazon’s website, in the address bar they will see HTTP(S),
the ‘S’ means that they are going into a webpage that has secure online
payment methods. If a user goes on a website and does not see the ‘S’ and it is
an E-commerce, then the website should be not be trusted. Before someone buy
something on Amazon.com, they will have to put a lot of their details on the
website. If Amazon does not have this, then they will lose so much revenue
because more and more people will not trust them due to them not being
‘’secure’’
Meeting customer’s expectation
When Amazon wants to sell products they have to meet the customers
expectation that’s why Amazon has to provide high quality and high standard
products. If Amazon doesn’t meet the customer’s expectation they will lose their
customers which will affect their profit. Meeting expectation is important for
Amazon.com because if they distribute products that are faulty or could cause
harm to the receiver then could have to court, which could lead them to lose
millions of pounds because of one of their products where faulty.
