Introduction
My main aim in my athletic career is to reach the professional level of rugby. I have a lot of
experience in rugby as I have been playing since I was 5 years old. I played for St Ives RFC from U6s
to U15s and then I moved to St Neots RFC for U16s and finally I went to Cambridge RFC for U17s and
U18s. In this time, I played in the Northampton Saints DPP programme for 4 years and after that I
got selected for East Midlands Trials but unfortunately, I did not get through. My main aim in a
career outside of sport is to be a personal trainer. I am currently doing my level 2 gym instructor and
after I have finished this I will be doing my Level 3 PT qualification and my level 4 athlete nutrition
and weight management. After I have completed these I would hope to work in a gym so that I can
gain more experience in a gym environment. Hopefully, with this experience of working in a gym, I
can then become a freelance PT where I would work with young athletes so I can push them to be
the best that they can be.
Athletic Career Planning
Goal Setting- Physical
Short Term Goal- Increase my muscle mass by 10kg so that I can match up with professional players
and not be bullied in the rucks and tackling.
Medium Term Goal- Decrease my body fat percentage to 15% so that I can have less useless weight
and more useful weight (muscle mass).
Long Term Goal- Increase my 100m sprint time to 11s so that I can sprint away from professional
opposition which will mean I can break the defensive line more often.
