Important Idea

I consider the most valuable and important idea in this section to be “giving reasons to

communicate the basis for our beliefs and decisions are universal in our species” (Faciones &

Gittens, p.89, 2016). We make our decisions based on our beliefs. As the author states, “there is

a way to ask “Why” in every language” (Faciones & Gittens p. 89, 2016). I find these ideas to be

important because it gives us an understanding of why decisions are made, and what they are

based on. Whether it be a wrong decision made or a positive decision made. This introduction

gives us a brief understanding of explanation to why we ask why.


Critical Thinking

The concepts discussed in chapter 4 that might make analysis of a statement difficult are

vagueness and ambiguity. Vagueness means that there is not sufficient clarity in regard to the

subject whether it be a sentence phrase or an artwork. For example, Maria is fast. We can ask

ourselves what is she fast in. It can be anything from being a fast runner or being a fast reader,

which why this statement is vague it does not have enough clarity. Ambiguity means that a
