Pretty straight forward and trust worthy work.
P2 -Describe the main employability, personal and communication skills required when
applying for a specific job role.
For this task I am going to describe the main employ abilities, personal and communication
skills. I will include on this work the suitable qualifications, experience in a similar role,
knowledge of products and services, experience of specific industry etc. I will describe them
fully and say that the meaning of them is.
Employability skills: Each job will require someone that has a range of specialist skills.
There are skills that are useful to a variety of other jobs and this means that it is transferable
between jobs. Employability is skills are essential for an employee when he is applying to work in a
modern workplace. The more important areas are;
Suitable qualifications-
This means that different jobs ask for different types of qualification. The employers will be more
satisfied about taking people who has got their GCSE’ with top grades, instead of someone who has
no qualification at all. And some even might ask for even higher qualification or more specific skills.
Business will take the applicant according to what kind of grades they have. Example, in Newman
Catholic College for an applicant who wants to be a maths teacher, he might be required to have a
top grade in mathematics like an ‘A’. It’s like a matter of trust as well, because if the applicant has a
top grade the school will assume that he will be a good teacher for that subject.
Experience in similar role-
Experience in similar role is when an employee has been in a job and he has done similar work to
what he’s new job will be. The business might require the applicant to have a specific skill and he
might not have it, but he has done something similar before which might help if he starts in this new
job. For Newman Catholic College could be someone that might be required to be a secretary and
also a medical supporter. The person might have the skills to be a secretary, and she has done
something similar to medical work, so the school could apply them because he has the skills of
something relevant to what they want.
Knowledge of products and services-
Knowledge of products and service is vital because you go into the job, especially if you are going to
work in a customer service role. This will help you to be more efficient at work and help you do the
job properly. You need to have an idea of what products or services the business does. Example,
most of the products of Tesco is foods, so the employee has to know everything about the products
so they can help customer. Or in Newman Catholic College, the teachers need to know the subjects
that they are teaching.
