CATCHMENT An area that is drained by a river and its tributaries, separated

RIVER SYSTEM The entire natural water system in a drainage basin made of
many individual stream channels that join to form one main
stream
WATERSHED A high lying area that separated different drainage basins
Minor watershed- a smaller high lying area within a drainage
basin (also known as a =n interfluve/ spur)
NOTE- the Drakensberg mountains in South Africa are a major
watershed that separate South Africa into the east that
receives optimal rainfall and the drier west
