The reproductive system (male)
The male reproductive system is located outside the body just below the pelvis it includes the penis,
scrotum, testiest, epididymis, vas deferens, prostate and seminal vesicles. The purpose of the male
reproductive system is to perform the following functions, including producing and transporting
sperm, ejaculating sperm into the female reproductive tract, and producing and secreting male
hormones.
The main function in summary
The purpose of the organs of the male reproductive system is to perform the following functions. To
produce maintain, and transport sperm, to discharge sperm into the female reproductive tract
during sex and to produce and secrete male sex hormones. The hormone produced by the male
reproductive system known as testosterone is what helps a boy develop into a mature man during
puberty, testosterone is responsible for the growth of male physical features such as muscle mass,
and bones mass.
Main components of the male reproductive system
The main reproductive system consists of the vans deferens, the bladder, the testicle, the colon, the
penis, the prostate, the urethra, the seminal vesicle, and the epidermis.
Vas deferens
The vas deferens are the first component of the male reproductive system I will explain. The vas
deferens is a muscular, long tube that travels from the epididymis into the pelvic cavity, to behind
the bladder. So what does it do? The vas deferens job is to transport matured sperm to the urethra
in preparation for ejaculation.
The job the vas deferens has is an important job, as without it sperm would not be able to travel for
ejaculation, therefore, the sperm wouldn’t be able to do its job properly and help make a baby.
Bladder
The next component I will explain is the bladder. The bladder is a muscle like sac, found in the pelvis.
The bladder stores urine, allowing urination to be infrequent and controlled.
Penis
The penis is the main part of the reproductive system. The penis is the male organ used in sexual
intercourse, consisting of three parts the root, the shaft, and the glans. The root attaches to the wall
of the abdomen, the shaft is the head of the penis, and the glands are also the head of the penis,
covered with a loose layer known as foreskin.
The penis main function is too ejaculate semen, which is a major component of reproduction. Semen
contains sperm, which starts of the growth of a foetus process. During intercourse, sperm is
ejaculated and travels through the vagina, to start the process of reproduction.
Prostate
The prostate is a gland situated below the bladder with a nut like shape. What does the prostate do
in the process of reproduction? Well, the prostate gland contributes additional fluid to ejaculation.
The prostate produces fluid that, together with sperm cells from the testicles and fluids from other
glands, makes up semen. Furthermore, the prostates muscles also ensure the semen is pressed into
the urethra and expelled outwards during ejaculation.
