Unit 4 Assignment 2P3- INVESTIGATING DIFFERENT TYPES OF EVENTS:
Events can vary from different sizes and this will be established on the purpose of
the event, the volume of people that are attending the event and the cost that is
available for the event. In this task I will be examining 3 different types of events, the
purpose of the event and the aim of the event.
Small Event- Parents Evening:
A parents evening is a short conference with a student’s parents to inform the
parents of how the student is doing at school or college. At
parents evening teachers will share information of the
performance, behaviour, predicted grades and an overall
summary of the student’s abilities so far. Parents evening
may consist of many teachers or just one if the person only
studies one subject. These usually occur after
school/college.
The purpose of this event is to infer information about the
student and keep the parents up to date of what is going on
inside the student’s welfare and learning. The teacher may also discuss the student’s
strengths and weaknesses for the student to pick up on them and the parents to help
turn it into a strength. Some parents like printed reports from teachers in order to
keep record for future reference and to analyse improvements.
The aim of this event is to make sure that parents are aware of the students learning
and how they are doing in education. The objectives are to inform them and the
student on what they need to improve on in order to excel. The school/college would
need every student to attend the event with their parents in order to give enough
feedback.
Some issues may be that parents will not attend, either because
they are busy, do not have transport or both parents are at
work. Another issue would be parking as the parking at a school
or college is normally for teachers and visitors, there wouldn’t be
enough space for parents so it might put them off from
attending.
Parents generally become happy with their children because they are performing
well at school or college and this may leave a positive impact on the family at home.
This may help other family members to improve and perhaps look to a role model.
This can also lead to more parents attending the event in the future.

Medium Event- Car Show:
This is an event that people would attend to look at other people’s
cars and possibly show their own. There are a few types of car
shows such as classical car shows, speciality shows, general
shows and club shows. These usually take place inside exhibition
centres or outside if there is good weather.
The purpose of a car show is to build new relationships and
meet new enthusiasts but most importantly to increase awareness of each car.
Sometimes in car shows there are car judges that would judge the best car on
appearance and performance the purpose of this is to create competition and
most importantly to win.
The aims and objectives of a car show is for everyone to have a good time and
enjoy themselves. For people to develop good relationships and acknowledgements
with each other. Another aim would be to raise enough money as most car shows
have an entrance fee. Most car shows are for charity and fundraising a lot of people
will attend if it is for a charity
Some issues would generally be that there is not enough parking space to attend the
event, or perhaps there are no more tickets to attend the event as the venue may be
full. Another issue would be if the weather is not good enough for the event to occur
this would mean that you would have to refund people for attendance of the event.
Another issue would be health and safety risks as some cars may inflict harm on
people and unsafe so they would need to be checked before they enter the
premises.
People will become more aware of the car show each time it is successful and could
get more likes on a Facebook page. If people become more aware more people will
attend the next time it occurs.
Large Event- Football World Cup:
The world cup is an event that takes place every 4
years all in different locations. It takes a large amount
of people to create the event and to put it all together
at a large venue. A large quantity of teams will
compete at a large stadium to play football. The team
which wins the final game will receive the world cup.
Many people attend this event because it is celebrated
worldwide. Each country will compete and fans from all
over the world will travel in order to watch the game.
The purpose of the world cup is to generate jobs and
improve the quality of life but also to create good competition between countries to
motivate people. This event helps to overcome any inequalities in the world.
