P3: Produce designs for 2D and 3D Digital Graphic products to meet the
client brief.

Planning

Target audience

Recently, I started as an intern at an IT specialist at an art company. Proposals for
increasing the use of IT in the company's production were also sought. In addition,
the artistic director and her team called for the development of 2D and 3D graphics
for Oscar Wilde's “The Importance of Being Serious" for the company's upcoming
theatrical performances. Also, looking at the target audience for this 3D model I
design and develop, it's based on drawing the audience to improve their IT usage.

Client requirements/Brief Requirements -

The client asked me to design and develop a 3D model for the room's decor.
Likewise, the flat decoration belongs to one of the characters. In addition, the stage
is about 10 metres wide and 9 metres deep. The height of the platform covering the
back wall of the stage should be approximately 5M. In addition, the design should
include the landscape painted on the entrance/exit doors of the apartment floor and
the furniture in the apartment.

Techniques for generating ideas,

Brainstorming and moodboard: The main idea creating method I would use first is
brainstorming. Brainstorming is a creative technique in which the attempt is made to
reach a conclusion to a particular problem by assembling a list of ideas. The second
technique I will use is Mood, a visual presentation made up of images, text, and
sample objects in a layout. Alternatively, mood boards can be used to convey a
general idea about a particular topic.

Thumbnail sketching -
The final technique I will use is the thumbnail sketch, a quick, abbreviated
drawing that is done very quickly and requires no editing. Also, a thumbnail sketch
can help me plan my proposed design.

Legal and Ethical considerations -

,Mohammed Hussain Unit 17

Furthermore, when considering the legal and ethical considerations of 2D and
3D digital graphics, I must ensure that I am not violating legal considerations
such as copyright law, so I must ensure that I have not used any copyrighted
assets since then; if copyright laws are violated, there is a high risk of being
caught and facing penalties such as fines or penalties. Plagiarism may result
in specific content/designs not being taken from another designer, which is an
ethical problem to address. Fair use, a legal notion that permits you to use an
author's copyrighted content in particular scenarios / circumstances without
requesting permission from the copyright owner, must also be considered to
guard against charges of copyright infringement. Furthermore, when
considering another legal/ethical component, such as a Creative Commons
(CC) licence, the licence allows the author to utilise or expand on their work.
Furthermore, forgery alerts me to the fact that I am not participating in the
copying, distribution, or sale of copyrighted materials from an ethical and legal
standpoint. Similarly, police permissions are another legal/ethical concern that
I must consider. Another legal/ethical concern is accessibility, which must be
adhered to to ensure that consumers are not inconvenienced. Finally,
intellectual property rights (trademarks/patents) are enforceable legal
responsibilities that must be applied to consumers.

Research Done -

In addition, I do market research as well as process planning for designs. Also,
market research will be extremely beneficial in making the right decisions, identifying
new opportunities and avoiding possible/willing failures. Similarly, process planning
includes the selection of processes, equipment, tools, and sequences. In addition, it
will help turn designs into actual products. Also, I studied theatre design because it
allowed me to realise and understand what would work for the client and what
wouldn't. Therefore, doing this research will reduce the risk of potential errors,
especially fundamental errors in the design process. In the same way, I performed
some research to learn about the software and hardware requirements.

Hardware for graphics

GPUs are required for processing 2D and 3D graphics, rendering polygons,
mapping textures, and other tasks. The more frames per second you obtain,
the quicker your graphics/video card (GPU) can process information.

Mouse and keyboard will be needed, digital camera, Graphics tablet. Software
needed photoshop. Microsoft Paint .

, Mohammed Hussain Unit 17

The processor, commonly known as the CPU, gives the computer the
instructions and processing power it needs to function. The quicker your
computer can finish tasks, the more powerful and updated your CPU is. You
can make your computer think and function faster by upgrading its CPU.

Visual themes and aesthetics -

Ergonomics

Ergonomics can incorporate the use of anthropometric data in product design to
improve user experience. Additionally, if a designer does not use anthropometric
data in this process, it can lead to a poor user experience, resulting in discomfort,
pain, and possibly injury. Ergonomics is a thought/consideration that guides the
design of a product in a way that makes it easy to use. In addition, the size, shape,
position, weight of buttons and controls are all characteristics/features/aspects that
give it an ergonomic design.

Anthropometrics -

Anthropometry is the practice of taking measurements of the human body and
providing classified data for use by designers. Additionally, anthropometry helps
designers collect useful data such as head circumference when designing a hard
hat.

Visual Aesthetics-

Visual aesthetics has the following main elements: shape, pattern, colour, line,
texture, sight, weight, balance, proportion, proximity, and movement. Therefore, the
use of the following will have an aesthetic effect on the sight.

Sources of images/Intended Delivery Platform -

Also, the image source I used is from the 3D inventory on sketchup. Also, the
intended distribution platform is Adobe Photoshop, but I had a hard time using it in
college due to hardware/software issues, so I used Sketchup. Also, it is difficult to
download or save files from the Sketchup file format because they are not
compatible.
