Meeting individual needs-This assignment will appraise the principal values and skills which
support meeting care needs and promote the needs of individuals. Firstly, the significance of
meeting individuals' needs would be identified because their values must be met to show care
and dignity, this supports the self-respect of the service users. Making sure the care giver
recognizes the service users' abilities and capabilities. This shows that they are respected for
what they can do, who they are truly and the life they live. Also care givers must follow the
principles for care to ensure the service users all receive the correct care they need equally. In
this case if the service users care values are not met, they may feel disrespected for the reason
the service provider does not take time to listen to them or correctly communicate with them. To
sum up everything stated, it is important that service providers ensure care values are met to
help their service users experience empowerment and respect from their care providers.
Promoting equality and diversity for individuals with diverse needs is important because it
ensures that people are treated fairly and equally, it should be balanced. Also make certain that
people get their dignity and respect they deserve, also their difference must be celebrated in a
way. Equality will be encouraged to ensure that the services provided are fair and accessible to
everyone. This will also create a safe environment and a positive atmosphere for patients
receiving care and caregivers, making better relationships in the health and social care space.
Tremayne case study 2- he is a 54-year-old man that is has autism and has been transferred to a
bigger hospital because recently he has fallen and broken his left leg in 3 separate places.
Tremayne lives alone but has a team that supports him; however, he has been transferred to a
community hospital because he tries to remove his cast, and the staff do not feel like he is ready
to go home. Also, he has a Wheet allergy, but he does not understand why he feels ill. He lives
off on pizza and sandwiches from his local shop. Tremayne is disruptive and has an outburst of
temper, which causes other users to become distressed.
Billy case study 4- he is 18 years old in early adulthood male, he is homeless and has been
admitted to the community hospital by a passing paramedic. He had an asthma attack in the
street. The city hospital has no available beds, so a space was found at a community hospital.
Billy has been kicked out of his house because he had an argument with his mother because he
disagreed with his mother's boyfriend that led to violent action made. He has been homeless
since then; the weather has become colder which contributed to Billy having an asthma attack.
Billy has visual impairment and finds streets hard to live in. He cannot clearly read the road
signs. Billy has complained about his stomach pains since being admitted to the hospital, which
could be due to him living off bin foods thrown out by local restaurants. Billy cannot go back
home from the hospital because his mother has changed the locks and has refused to visit him.

Equality is treating patient's fairy and the care is unbiased with who they care for despite their
sex, race, religion, disability, ability and are given the same number of chances. It does not mean
all patients must be treated the exact same since everyone has diverse needs that they want
their care giver to meet for personal reasons. They can have those grand expectations from
them. Case study 2 (Tremayne) examines the struggle of an autistic elderly man living alone but
receiving some care from careers however, this is not enough for Tremayne as he needs 24/7
care from professionals this is because he may struggle to function like others, this will lead him
to easily injuring himself. It is important that professionals offer Tremayne equality when
supporting him. Doing this is making sure as professional's they speak to Tremayne privately,
, taking time out with him and explaining at his level of knowledge how he is behaving, this is
because most of the time autistic people do not often know how to explain their feelings so
taking time to sit with him will raise the comfort for Tremayne.
Equality-Case study 4 (Billy) assess the effect of conflict between family, Billy is 18 years old he
has had an argument with his mother because of her boyfriend, Billy and the boyfriend had a
disagreement which led to Billy being kicked out of the house e has been living on the street
since, however he had an asthma attack which led him to going to the hospital, later e began to
complain about a stomach pain which is due to eating from bins and rubbish. It is important that
professionals at the hospital offer Billy equal care when treating him. Making sure this is one
could keep Billy feeling comfort from his careers. Because Billy is homeless companies like
‘SHELTER’ can help Billy learn how to take care of himself, provide a home for him, if necessary,
this will bring less depression and discomfort for Billy, he will know there is someone to help him
even in the difficulties. If this equality is not challenged Billy will most definitely feel like there is
no meaning to life and may want to end it because he is still a child even though he has entered
his adulthood.
Diversity-Equality acknowledges diversity and pursuers to offer the same freedom and access to
health treatment and social care regardless of race, religion, genders, mental or physical health
or any character that makes a person different. An example of diversity not being shown in
health and social care, unfairly treating a person differently because of their race, religion etc.
Challenging diversity in a health and social care environment would look like making sure staff
are trained not to treat anybody differently, however they are not meant to be treated the same
because of dissimilar needs. Tremaynes professional careers should acknowledge that Tremayne
is different and does not act out like everyone else. Preventing an autistic person (Tremayne)
from acting out presents clear expectations for Tremayne, this will open his mind to control his
behavior, and it becomes a goal he wants to achieve. Avoiding negative talk with Tremayne so
he does not feel the need to hide or not communicate at all with the professionals or his family
and friends. Be encouraging to Tremayne, this will lift his self-esteem, also he may sense comfort
from the professionals. An example of how to avoid negative talk, try not to speak over him or
about him when others are around. Making sure that when speaking to Tremayne about his
behavior, you find a space where there is no one in the room to ensure that he feels safe and
pacified.
Diversity-in case study 4 a way to show diversity in Billys situation is helping him even though he
has no actual home, doing this will empower Billy and will build trust between the care giver and
Billy which is the important thing here, if diversity is ignored it will affect Billy, he will develop
resentment with the care givers, have negative self-image or a lack of confidence. An example of
diversity being disregarded is when a caregiver makes it clear they do not want to take care of
Billy because he smells unpleasant or is homeless, which should not happen in a healthcare
center. Staff should be trained to take care of anyone that enters the hospital. If staff ignore
diversity it could lead to disciplinary for them. If diversity is challenged people's lifestyles
improve also, they may start to see the brightness of life.
Discriminations is like both equality and diversity; it differs because it has 4 diverse types of
them including; Direct discriminations which is when the service provider treats the service user
differently or unpleasant then others for certain reasons (it can go both ways wen the service
user treats the professionals differently because of race or gender). Second one is Indirect
discrimination this is when a company or a hospital has a policy or rule which applies to
everyone in the same way however, it has baneful effects on some people than others. Third
Harassment, if you are being harassed because of a boundary with a particular someone and
they overstep e.g., if Tremayne makes it clear he does not want to be touched when being talked
to and the professional feels the need to hug or rub his knee, this would be some form of
