Activity analysis
Activity analysis is a tool used by occupational therapists, it is the
dissection of an activity into components and analyse the inherent demand
and meaning of the activity (Creek, 2010). An individual doing a typical
activity, such as drawing, can be broken down into a sequence of tasks using
different performance skills.
Meaning and purpose of the activity
Drawing is a form of art in which individuals use drawing utensils to
create an image. There are various meanings and purposes of drawing.
Drawing as a kind of leisure activities, could share potential meanings of
leisure. Leisure gives people a sense of freedom, because it does not bear
obligations unlike obligatory occupations such as work and self-care (Craik
and Pieris, 2006). It allows physical and mental relaxation from obligatory
occupations and routines (Roelofs, 1999). Besides, participating in leisure
activities promotes people from finding self-identity and personal development
