My name is Atanas, in this assignment I have being asked as a trainee data analyst to produce a
spreadsheet which covers the important data for the company “The Fine Cheese Co”. in this data It
should cover the prices the cheese has being bought, calculate the UK sales prices with a markup
value of 40%, get live exchange rates from pounds to euros and the amount of money the company
will earn at the end of the month.
First thing I will have to do is 3 designs so the client can pick which design suits best.
Functions the model must perform:
User Interface: the user will consider a minimum of two or three designs which will portrait how the
spreadsheet will look like in a finish format. I will be using Microsoft Excel to provide all the data and
from this I will be create a design showing how my data model will look like before moving forward
with the tasks. My tables will contain Macro buttons which will allow the user to navigate through the
spreadsheet much easier and without opening the wrong sheet.
Buttons: for the spreadsheet I will use macro buttons which should allow the user to navigate through
out the spreadsheet with one click of the button,
Spinner: A spin button is used to make increase or decrease in a value much easier you just need to
press either up or down arrow. Looking at what the client wants I might have to use the spin button.
Constraints: the disadvantages I will have been that I am restricted to data so I will have to use
formulars to find the data I need to specific cell.
Time: This will take a lot of time to do because I need to work with a lot of sensitive data which I
should 100% be sure that is correct not only that I will have to meet a lot of requirements set by the
company
, Software available – software I will be using is Excel 2019
Meeting with client – I will have to allocate time so I can make a meeting with the client to discuss
the work I will be doing. I will try to arrange a Face-to-Face meeting with the client and if the client
can’t do face to face then I will try get an online meeting because for me to be able to do this work I
will have to have contact with the client at least once per 2 days.
Success Criteria.
The success criteria that are needed for this data model is to show my successful and good working
system that I will created and make users aware of what is expected of them and to motivate them to
extend themselves by looking each bit on the tables.
Company: the company ‘The Fine Cheese Co’.
Client satisfaction: my aim is to make the client very satisfy by my work so for this to happen I will
have to create and carefully choose the designs for the model with the help of other people’s opinions.
Spreadsheet Model Design and
justification 3 designs are needed.
User Interface: here I will show my 3 designs layouts. I will try to make it reasonable so it can be
understood what page what for example will be background colours or the layouts of the tables.
