Weston-super-Mare (Coastal Resort)
Location and accessibility
Weston-super-Mare is a seaside resort town located in the west of England in North
Somerset. It is in the Bristol Channel 18 miles away from Bristol. Weston is very accessible by
road as the M5 goes through the town. The A38 and A370 also goes throughout Weston and
makes it accessible for people who come from Bridgewater or Bristol. The town is also
accessible by rail. It has three rail stations, including Weston-super-Mare, Weston Milton
and Worle. The rail goes from Taunton to Bristol and vica versa. Weston does not have an
airport, but Bristol Airport is about 25 minutes by car. The town is not really accessible by
sea as it does not have a port.

Natural features
Weston-super-Mare has five beaches called Weston-super-Mare Main Beach, Sanatorium,
Grand Pier, Uphill and Marine Lake. People from all ages and nationalities would visit the
Weston-super-Mare Beach as it has a beautiful view on the Bristol Channel.
Weston has River Axe and River Banwell. River Axe is usually visited by families, local people,
elderly, runners, adults and people with pets. It cannot be visited by disabled as it is near
Uphill Beach and it is sandy and muddy.
There is one hill located in Weston. It is called Worlebury Hill. There are also some
mountains and hills close to Weston e.g. Brean Down, Brent Knoll, Bleadon Hill and
Wavering Down. They are mostly visited by adults, people and families who like hiking.
Worlebury Hill has many footpaths and it has also parking places. It has a beautiful view on
Kewstoke and Weston.
There is a Gorge called Cheddar Gorge that is close to Weston. IT is visited by families,
elderly and people who like gorges, history and hiking. The gorge is beautiful and Britain`s
oldest skeleton, the Cheddar Man, was found there.
The Weston-super-Mare Main Beach makes Weston the most appealing to different types of
visitors. It is accessible for the disabled, pets are welcomed in many areas of the beach and
there are loads of restaurants and cafés on the beach. These natural features are mostly for
families and people who like nature and hiking.

Built attractions
There is a castle called Banwell Castle near Weston-super-Mare. It is visited mostly by adults
and elderly. The Helicopter Museum is located in Weston-super-Mare on the south-eastern
corner of the former Weston-super-Mare airport. It is visited by families, adults, elderly and
disabled as it has wheelchair access to all areas of the museum. The Weston-super-Mare
Museum is located in the town, but it is closed now for a two year refurbishment and will re-
open in August 2017. It is visited mostly by schools and families. People who are interested
in Weston`s history enjoy this attraction. The Clevedon Court is 14th century manor house
with parts of a massive 13th century Tower and Great Hall. It is located 9.1 miles away from
