Model Design Document
Consideration of brief report
The scene and models are created for my game concept that was created during
the induction assignment, as well as used during Unit 22 – Developing Computer
Games. The scene is of the main character’s bedroom where the player starts in,
where some of the furniture is being modelled for – the models I will be creating
are a chest, drawers, fireplace, bed, and windows that are based on the setting,
which is a medieval-fantasy game set in a snowy town called Swindon.
The audience has been taken into consideration, which is a 12+ age rating for the overall game or a maximum of 16 –
there is no representations of specific groups of people, no violence, nudity, or sexual interactions within the scenes.
There is also a minimum of two objects that can be animated within the scene including the curtains (blowing or
opening/closing), open/close draws, or open and close treasure chest.
The following is a mood board for inspiration of the style of furniture I will be modelling for a bedroom; the scene
based it on an affluent medieval home set in a fantasy world so details on the era are not necessary. The five models
I plan to create are as follows: A bed, chest, fireplace, drawers, and windows with curtains.
These two images are concept art for the two
models that will be animated – the drawers and
curtains of the windows.
The draws will simply pull-out (or close) when
triggered, extending to the inside of the model
out to show an empty draw.
