• On 6 February 2022, the North East Health Protection team (HPT), UK Health
Security Agency (UKHSA) was alerted to reports of gastrointestinal illness in
individuals who attended a wedding at a venue in Newcastle on 3 February
2022. Five guests separately reported illness to local Environmental Health
Officers (EHOs) who informed the HPT. The five guests mentioned that
several other guests were also unwell.
