Different Types of Event and the Factors Affecting Success
There are a number of factors that affect the success of an event. In this piece I will be providing
examples of successful events and how these compare against these differing factors.

Business Event – Tesla Model 3 product launch
The example of a successful business event that I will be analysing will be the Tesla Model 3 product
launch. Understanding levels of attendees and their behaviours is essential as a business will be able
to tailor an event to ensure it creates meaningful and personal connections, making potential
customers more engaged with the business and the products being offered. During Tesla’s unveiling
event there was said to be over 115,000 people that reserved the Model 3, this shows the extent of
their audience and demonstrates how a business should conduct their events, evidenced b their
success. The purpose of the event was to advertise their new product offering the market a new
affordable EV care, that gains speed efficiently in a smooth and almost silent fashion, while driving in
style and luxury. Another factor that makes an event successful is the safety precautions in place, in
the event they would have multiple fire exits and helpers that understood how they would organise
a panicked audience to maintain a safe exit. Additionally, they would have security guards and
spacious seating to ensure there was no other kinds of malicious threats. Finally, there may be fire
extinguishers and a well-qualified team that worked in the background to ensure that everything
was up to health and safety standards. Media attention is also essential to a business event, this is
because here are the marketing channels where the word will get out to the general public and
existing fanbase. Tesla’s Model 3 product launch is somewhat intriguing due to the fact that they
spend no one on marketing. Their success is put down to this strategy as they have a huge influence
on because of a number of reasons., for example, their humorous approach, Elon Musk’s and Tesla’s
huge social media presence. This combined with their quality services and luxury products they have
managed to develop a huge following. As a result, their unveiling had a serious level f hype with
numerous news outlets specifically hose specialising in new technology reported on this event both
before, during and after leading to reservations at 325,000, Giving '$14 Billion' Future Sales. With
CEO Elon Musk stating that Model 3 reservations had already hit 276,000 just a few days after the
car's reveal, it was already clear that Tesla had well and truly smashed it. External factors was
planned for and avoided for example, holding the event inside would allow an atmosphere to be
developed while increasing the chance of the audience attending. Ensuring that everything went
smoothly would have been put down to Musk and his huge team that worked on every little detail to
ensure the unveiling was perfect and the results proved this.

Sports and Recreation Event – 2022 World Cup, Qatar
3,404,252 spectators saw all the games of the world cup, or 53,191 on average each game. The goal
of the World Cup is to determine the finest football nation in the world, but this World Cup also had
the intention of introducing Qatar to the sporting world, which did not go as planned. Because of the
extravagant prices they paid for alcohol, if you could even buy it, the safety of the world cup was
actually very good. To ensure everyone's safety, there was security all around the stadium. There
were, however, a lot of dubious arguments regarding the alleged violation of workers' rights during
the stadium's construction. This attracted the media's attention, which started to damage the
reputation of FIFA as many migrant worker fatalities as possible were reported during the stadium's
construction.
