Now that the planning of the website and testing has been carried out before the launch,
the time has come where the Frozo website is to be launched. There are many different
factors which will affect the websites performance that need to make carefully considered.
Below will see a plan showing what actions are needed for the launch of the Frozo website
and those plans will be put into different catergories.
For in-house hosting, Frozo would’ve needed a web server with a high speed connection to
the internet. The business would be responsible for its day to day operations and 24-hour
support. The business would also have to consider the cost of software licences.
Disadvantages of this would be the high cost of purchasing web server hardware, high
technical skills that staff will required having in order to develop, maintain and upgrade the
website and to keep up to date with the latest technical developments and the need for
specialist expertise in employing tools and techniques to maintain the security of the
website. I will use external hosting for Frozo whereby I will pay an ISP to provide the
business with connection to the internet. This will have advantages to Frozo such as high
levels of security, most ISPs have very fast connections to the internet, the ISPs server
should offer a very high degree of availability and reliability and the ISP should have a secure
operating environment, high quality virus protection and the latest software patches to
ensure the security of the site.
Due to Frozo being a smaller business, I am going to use external hosting as this small
business does not have specialist IT equipment or a specialist IT department. I feel that the
expertise will be a lot greater with an external host and Frozo will be hosted through
external, dedicated hosting.
Maintenance and updates
Maintenance includes all of the technical aspects of the website such as the speed of
upload, accessibility maintained, performance on different platforms and payment systems
working. Updates must be carried out as a website is only as good as its content and
whether it is up to date or not. Therefore, content must be continually updated and all
databases linked to the website must be maintained. This will ensure credibility of the
website and will encourage customers to return and so customer loyalty is built. Frozo will
always be maintaining and updating their website. Ways in which they will do this include;
Taking feedback from social netoworking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and
Instagram. Customers comments and opinions will be considered and the results of
this will be put into the next update of the website so that the users experience is
always improving.
Updating with new products. This will involve me providing the external host with
information to input into the website which will update it with the latest products
available to customers.
Updating databases such as customer database, customer account database,
database of FAQ, product database. Again this information will be passed on by me
,Conor Cunningham P6 M3 D2
to the external host as they will have more expertise with databases and will update
accordingly.
Updating security. This will be carried out by the external host as they use their own
security packages on my website.
Updating images and videos. This will involve the marketing team of Frozo sending all
new images and videos to the external host for uploading to the website.
Updating advertising and promotion of website. I will carry out all advertising and
promotion of the website across many different platforms such as billboards, flyers
and newspapers as well as across social media such as Facebook, Twitter and
Instagram.
Updating with promotional offers. These will be sent by myself to the external host
who will update accordingly on the website.
Maintenance and checking compatibility on different platforms and different levels
of connectivity. This will be carried out by the external host which will ensure there is
compatibility between the Frozo website and all other platforms.
Checking that user can log in easily. This will be carried out by the external host to
ensure all customers and administrators can log in properly.
Checking that cookies are working. Again, the external host will ensure that this is
working effectively.
Renewal of website subscription/fees. I will renew the websites subscription and fees
as they arise.
Checking all functions and features working such as search bar working and products
listing correctly. The external host will ensure that all functions and features continue
to work correctly after the launch of the Frozo website.
Monitoring payment systems to ensure they’re working correctly. The external host
will monitor this to ensure the Frozo website can accept payment effectively online.
Customer feedback
An advantage of a website is the ease with which clients, customers and the target audience
are able to give feedback. Successfully utilising customer feedback is a must for any business
looking to provide users with the product they desire and Frozo is no exception to this. This
will involve building a feedback facility into the site and then monitoring the feedback and
taking action to update the website based on the results. Examples of actions which need to
be carried out in relationt to customer feedback after the launch of the website include;
Regularly reviewing analytics. This will involve me checking up on the analytics of
the website to see if I need to change any input into the website to improve the
company and the successfulness of the website.
Regularly reviewing cookies. I will look at this to see what products are in high
demand and for those in lower demand, promotional offers may begin.
Reading feedback received through the website. This will be carried out by me and
other employees of Frozo to ensure customer feedback is acted upon and put into
practice in the everyday operations of Frozo.
Reacting to what the customers and target audience are saying or suggesting. All
employees of Frozo will react to customers suggestions and opinions so that their
demands are always catered for.

Measuring sales as an indicator of customer satisfaction and customer retention.
This will be carried out by Frozo and the external host to see if there are any
improvements which can be made to the website.
Promotion of website
Continuous promotion of the Frozo website must be carried out both online and offline. This
can be done using social media, through affiliate links placed on other sites, appear on
vehicle livery and promoted intrade magazines and other methods such as billboards and
flyers. All of these should help drive traffic through to the new website. After launching, the
Frozo website will be promoted in many different ways which include;
Social media
Vehicle livery
Local newspapers
Flyers
Online blogs
Affiliate links placed on other sites
This promotion will help to build a strong brand image and keep Frozo products in the eye
of the consumer which will ultimately help the company reach business objectives such as
increasing sales and profits.
Security of ICT systems
Once the website is launched, it is worth checking on the security measures in place. A
successful attack on my site not only leads to data of users and the company being stolen,
but can also lead to a blacklisting of my site by Google to other search providers as my
infected site risks spreading malicious content throughout the internet. Security issues
change every day and the security of a website should never be overlooked. I will always be
looking for ways to review and upgrade the security of my website. Examples of ways in
which the security of ICT systems within the Frozo website will be monitored after lauching
include;
Employing internet security personnel
Keeping all software updated
Building layers of security around the website such as firewall and access control
Ensuring a ‘https’ URL is maintained
Changing administrative passwords every thirty days as a measure of security
Business continuity plans
Business continuity planning is the process of creating systems of prevention and recovery
to deal with potential threats to a company. A business such as Frozo which is progressing
online can find itself in difficulty if it becomes dependent on internet technology only to
discover that when a technical disaster occurs, the business is put under immediate threat.
Managers should have contingency plans such as what they will do if something goes wrong,
