M1-Analyse how a selected website has been designed to meet the requirements of
its target audience.

Introduction
In this essay I am going to analyse how a selected website has been designed to
meet the requirements of its target audience.

Amazon
Amazon.com, also called Amazon, is an American electronic commerce and cloud
computing company that was founded on July 5, 1994, by Jeff Bezos and is based in
Seattle, Washington.

Functions and their advantages and disadvantages

Language-
● Advantage:The language on Amazon website is legible, as the website
provides different languages which provides a greater experience for people
who wants to read the information in detail about the products.

● Disadvantage: Even though they provide a variety of languages from
customers to choose from, the process of finding how to change the language
is not convenient as you have to go from one page to another clicking
countlessly which is time consuming.

Navigation-
● Advantage:The navigation of amazon presents the most used links on site to
the user, to ensure that the sections required most often are seen first, also
reducing ‘click count’. This makes the website convenient for Amazon
customers.

● Disadvantage:However there is a problem with the amazon navigation as I
found the dropdown list on the side of the screen shown in full when the
screen size is large enough. however when the screen is not large enough,
the navigation will not show unless the user hovers over the shop by
department box.

Accuracy-
● Advantage:Amazon provides accurate reliable source of information for users,
if a user were looking for specifications of a camera, if they chose amazon to
look at the camera the specifications must be correct for this to be of any use
to the user.

● Disadvantage: Information about the product can be incorrect and the user
has been falsely informed on the site.It can lead the customer taking legal
matters into their own hands against Amazon for faulsey giving them
misjudgment, which can leave AMazon paying out a fine of thousands.
