PHYSICS
Chapter-Work & Energy:-
 The ability of a body to do work is called energy.
 A “WORK” Is said to be done, when a force
causes a displacement in it’s own direction.
 BOTH ENERGY AND WORK ARE SAME
QUANTITIES
 Work is directly proportional to the amount of
energy spent, i.e.->The more the energy spent,
the more work is done.

 FACTORS OF WORK-DONE DEPENDS:-
i) Amount of applied force
ii) Displacement in the direction of force applied

 >Theta is the angle between force and
displacement..
•]As we know that work is said to be done
when a force causes a displacement in its own
direction. But sometimes, we see that the
work is done, but the displacement caused by
the force is not in its own direction.So during
these situation, then angle between the force

, and displacement is called theta, as described
above!
 Symbol of theta->[Q]
 So, in this type of WORK-DONE, the WD(WORK-
DONE ) is called Force(F) multiplied by
displacement(S) and multiplied by COSQ(Theta)
 So. WD=F.S.COSQ [As, Q is the angle between
force and displacement]

1)TWO TYPES OF QUANTITIES:-
i) Vector Quantity->When a applied force causes a
displacement in a specific direction.
ii) Scalar Quantity->When a applied force causes a
displacement in any direction.
 Units Of WORK-DONE:--
 In S.I. unit=Joule (J)
 In CGS unit=Erg.
 1 Joule=10 raised to the power 7 ergs.

1. WORK-DONE are of two types:-
