Task 2

The meaning of conformity means someone changing their own attitude or belief due to the
group pressure.
The word obedience is meant by following and obeying by any rules or laws that have been
set from someone in higher authority then you or an individual.

Compliance
The definition of compliance is conforming to any orders or requests that someone gives and
individual to complete or perform a certain task.
Compliance is done all done the time, somethings without people knowing they are doing it.
Within the public services everyone is always showing compliance. The reason for why the
personnel might not know they are showing compliance because wearing the uniform is
compliance, showing discipline by either showing respect or even saluting to individuals in
higher authority.

Social Norms
The meaning of social norms is where groups have the same standards of behaviour. The
people in that groups are expected to conform to the behaviours. The definition of norms is
about “social rules” which is about the correct behaviour within the groups. This can be
influence through conformity.
All humans are bound to socialise with other people. Humans normally find their groups
which they feel most conformable with and share the same behaviours or even beliefs.
When people find their right groups, individuals become happier and more confident in
things. All cultures have different ideas about humans on their beliefs or ideas on how to live
life.

Role of Self-Esteem
The definition of self-esteem means being confident your own skills and having self-respect
about yourself.
Having good self of esteem can be influenced from both obedience and conformity. People
with self of esteem are more likely to follow the orders and laws that have been set or have
been asked from someone in higher authority as they are more respectful and have more
confidence to carry out the tasks out. Self-esteem can have a disadvantage as well. The
reasons for why it can be a disadvantage is because people could be too confident and not
comply to orders.
