In this assignment, I am going to explain the roles of advertising agencies in the
development of Apple’s successful promotional campaign
An advertising agency is a business that offers services based on advertising dedicated on
planning, creating and dealing other business advertising needs. They are usually
independent from their clients and can provide an outside point of view of the business
advertising efforts There are different types of adverting agencies, they include: in-house,
limited service and full service.
In-house
In-house agencies are agencies that are found within businesses usually large businesses.
They can’t be used by other organisations as they are only used to promote the products for
their owner. For example, Apple has its own in-house agency. This means that Samsung can’t
use them to promote their products they can only be used by Apple. A term that can also be
used to define this action is insourcing.
Limited service
Limited service is a type of agency that are specialised in one area of advertising. They may
offer one or two service, but the services are assured to be done by specialist’s. They usually
compliment in-house advertising as in-house adverting may not be covered in all the
advertising areas.

Full service agencies are agencies hired to cover and do all the advertising and promotional
activities for businesses. This will usually include from the first step to the last of the
advertising campaign therefore businesses won’t need to hire other agencies to focus on
other parts of the advertising process as everything will be done.
