Unit 6 Principles of Management report and presentation
structure for January 2024 Exam:
Start by ticking the "Different first page" box in the header at the top of your report. This ensures the header only
appears on the first page. Next, put a title in the header that briefly describes the report's main content, the business
it's for, and who put it together (your name).
*You may have to include you learner number/ID so check with your teacher for the specific format

and the suggested management proposals and recommendations.

1. Introduction
1.1 The reports purpose is to:
(i) Firstly give the business background (what the business does, size, who its run by etc)
(ii) Purpose of the report (look at the Task 1 instructions found in Part A and Part B extract,
these instructions will tell you the purpose, so include that here)
2. Proposal of key strategic objectives
List the strategic objectives of the business and explain each one, these are listed in the Part A
extract and there are usually 3 of them. (Examples of common objectives below)
2.1 - Reduce staff turnover
2.2 - Increase profit and net profit
2.3 - Achieve higher levels of innovation and creativity
3. Current management challenges faced by (insert company name) (minimum of 4 challenges):
- Use the case study to identify at least 4 challenges that the business is facing that is negatively impacting
their strategic objectives, some examples are included below: (the challenges will depend on your case
study). You may have tables/graphs in your case study, try and use the data in this section.
3.1 Clashes in management style
3.1.1 You can use the case study to identify the management style or styles currently used in the
business, and give a justification. Then mention the advantages of the management style
and the disadvantages. In the disadvantages make sure you link the negative impact to
the strategic objectives you identified earlier.
3.2 Low levels of motivation
3.2.1 Low levels of motivation is a common issue, try to identify WHY there may be low
motivation, could it be due to recent changes? Unsuitable management styles? Conflicts
with other staff? Explain the importance of a workforce that is highly motivated, and
