My first overall aim I wish to achieve in 2 years is to be studying business innovation and enterprise
at Edge Hill University. To do this I aim to achieve D*D*D* as my overall grade at the end of my
course. A skill which I may want to develop which will help me when studying business innovation
and enterprise may be to improve my presentation skills, this will help me display any small
businesses or ideas that I come up with during the duration of my course. As well as this it will also
improve my confidence and general skills in a workplace. The ability to give a competent and well
thought out presentation is a soft transferable skill that I will be able to use in many different
settings, such as in my education and in a work setting. This soft transferable skill can be developed
by constant practise and is a very valued skill that employers look for, especially if they are expecting
their employees to represent the company.

Currently I am studying at The Cheadle College and am working towards going to Uni. I am predicted
A D*D*D* and have been made an offer by Edge Hill University to study Business Innovation and
Enterprise in 2018. As for my presentation skills, I have not currently developed them to the quality
which would be acceptable to employers and universities, I aim to work on this in the future.

Another goal I hope to achieve in the next two years is to pass my driving test by only taking a
maximum amount of 3 attempts at either the theory or the practical test. A transferable skill that will
come in handy when attempting to achieve this goal would be persistence. Persistence is important
in achieving this goal because it will prevent me from getting disheartened if I unexpectedly fail a
part of the test, it will also aid me in continuing if I feel like quitting. Persistence is a skill that is
important to have in general because it will allow me to continue with ideas and ventures I partake in
in the future, especially considering any future job opportunities or the job I want in the future.

At the moment, I have not taken a theory or a practical driving test, this is mainly because I do not
have the necessary funds to take the tests or buy a car after I have passed said tests. Despite this, I
believe that I do possess the skill of persistence to some extent as it has helped me in the past when
stuck on pieces of work.

In 2 years’ time when I am studying at university I hope to have a part time job that I can use to
support my studying and fund my education. What determines whether I will be able to get and
maintain a steady part time job is my commitment and time management skills. For example,
working and studying at the same time will require me to have good time management because I will
have to allocate time for both and decide which is more important at what time. The part time job I
get will also be determined by my commitment for the job, because the more I am committed the
more likely I am to enjoy the role, therefore improving my performance in that role and making it
more likely for me to get a promotion. Promotions will then lead to further job opportunities and
higher pay, making it easier for me to support myself.

At the moment, I have a part time job that I can use to support myself, I currently make around £350
a week which helps me support myself without using too much of my student loans. I also believe
that over time I have built up some commitment to my job and my course. I have also developed my
current time management skills and have allocated time to both studying and working.

One thing that is nearly as important as studying and working hard is my health, as I need to make
sure I am healthy enough to be able to work in certain roles or to study effectively. Therefore, in 2
years I also hope to have joined a gym and gotten in shape. Getting in shape will improve both my
physical and mental health, making it easier for me to articulate pieces of work and preventing me
from getting stressed and burned out on university work. A skill that will benefit me when I am
attempting to get in shape is a positive attitude at all times, this will help me identify when I am
