understand how they contribute to the success of a team.
Receptionist A receptionist’s role within a team is to
communicate information effectively to
other members’ of staff such as carers’,
managers’ and caterers. As a
receptionist, you are expected to pass
on necessary information to visitors to
the residential home such as family
members’ or friends’ of service users’,
as well as other workers from other
organisations (e.g. deliveries).
Receptionists may have to do things on
behalf of other members’ of staff such
as organising doctor’s appointments for
service users’, as well as calling other
companies to enquire (e.g. if a delivery
has not arrived).
Security As a security guard, you will be working
alongside other colleagues, service
users’ as well as members’ of the public
to keep everybody safe. Security guards
often rely on other people to help them
do their job properly, for example when
other people report something the
security guards have to go and
investigate. Security guards need to
work alongside others in a team for high
effectivity. The security will also inform
other members’ of staff of occurrences if
necessary which involves clear
communication between members’ of
staff within the team. For example, if
there needs to be an evacuation in the
residential home then the security need
to work alongside managers and other
colleagues to get everybody out quickly.
