M3 – Explain how the effects of life factors and events that occurred earlier in life
could impact on an individual’s ability to deal with aging.
A life factor is something which usually happens through no fault of your own and it
can have an effect on the rest of your life. There are many factors such as biological,
genetic and social. Whereas, a life event is something which happens through your
choice or actions which could lead to a result of going through a life event and it
changes the rest of your life, they can be both expected and unexpected.
If a life factor or event takes place when you are a younger person it will have a huge
impact on the rest of your life.
Unexpected bereavement
This is a life event, when an individual at a young age experiences unexpected
bereavement it can cause many physical changes to their body, the main factors
would be exhaustion and tightness being, and the body may have muscle aches and
pains. An individual will also have a lack of energy combined with a vicious cycle of
tiredness and insomnia or they could have disturbed sleep, this can lead to feelings
of extreme fatigue. As this is likely to have a huge effect on the individuals sleeping
pattern in the long term. This means that they could be put on sleeping medication
such as temazepam which would therefore be required through a period of time in
their life. There could also be an addiction which would have a huge effect on the
way they live and how they could be living in the future as the addiction begins to get
the better of them. The individual may also comfort themselves by over or under
eating, this could cause them to develop an eating disorder whether it be avoiding
food or being addicted to food. This could cause many health problems as they may
be lacking certain minerals to encourage healthy development. They would also have
a far weaker immune system. Meaning they will be more prone to illnesses or
diseases which could shorten their life span.
Someone who is going through unexpected bereavement will need time away from
things such as work or school so they are likely to take time off, this is probably due
to them wanting to be alone to grieve in their own way. Therefore, they could be
behind others who were on the same level before the passing away of a close
relative/friend. If too much work or school is missed they could lose their place
which would result in more stress and worry. They may also distance themselves
