M1 Unit 14

Analyse the impact of relevant legislaton / regulatons on any two types of employment
contract. M1

Minimum wage ( full tme / part tme)
The change in minimum wage can impact on Tesco both negatvely and positvely. For example,
the increase in minimum wage can positvely impact employees who are under the contract of
part tme because employers who are working under part tme contract has less hours to work
compared to full tme contract, increase in minimum wage will allow employees to earn more
money without doing too many hours which also implies same for people who are working
under a full tme contract where employee will be able to make more money with the hours
they are doing. This can also means that employees will want to work fewer hours as they
would be getting paid more. wowever it can negatvely impact business like Tesco because this
means that Tesco will have to pay their employees to those who are part tme and full tme
more money affectng their revenue for Tesco in overall as a result of decrease in revenue.
Tesco want to be able to invest the money on new product and services which effectng Tesco
heavily. Furthermore if the minimum wage decreases than it can negatvely impact the
employees as they would be making less money more doing more hours of work for people
who are working under the contract of full tme as well as part tme. Decreasing minimum wage
will cause more employees to do full tme rather than part tme as more money means more
disposable income however this can lead a positve impact to the business where business like
Tesco will have to pay less money to their employees who are under the contract of part tme
and full tme which also affectng their overall revenue. The overall revenue will increase for
Tesco which means Tesco will be able to invest on other things such as customer service where
Tesco can in long run being benefcial.

Maximum working hour (full tme / part tme )
The increase or decrease in maximum working hour can impact Tesco heavily. For example,
The increase in working hour can positvely impact employees who are under a full tme as well
as well in part tme contract because employees will have the choice to do long hours of work if
they want to however in the other hand it can also impact Tesco in a positve way, increase in
maximum hours means that Tesco will be able to get employees who will be able to work more
hours which mean more output therefore as a result Tesco will be able to make more revenue
and in long run being benefcial to Tesco as they will be able to gain more loyal customers from
having more employees who can work more hours. wowever in the other hand if the maximum
working hours decreased than this means that employees who are working under part tme as
well as full tme contract will have fewer hours to work, which can lead to a negatve impact to
some employees as some would want to earn more in order to have more disposable income
for them. wowever in the other hand this means that Tesco will have to employ more
