Task 4
Link the functions of three body systems (digestive cardiovascular and respiratory systems)
You can identify the functions of each system and show how they are interrelated. You must
use some annotated diagrams with some explanatory text.
All the organs in our body, have a specific function, so they all contribuate in a task so the
body runs smothly, and also all the organs are related to each other, and they all suport
each other, to mantain the body healthy.
The first section, is when the respiratory and digestive system work together, the digestive
system, is responsable of braking down food, so the body can absorb the nutrients from that
food, during this procces, the digestion the body breacks down nutrients molecules, wich will
be absorbed later on, by the intestine, and then into the bloodstream.
The molecules help build new ones and provides energy to function.
Also the respiratory system is responsable for taking in and circulating oxygen into the
bloodstream and to restore cells, and the sirculatory system, is also reponsable for picking
up carbon dioxide waste and to help exhale waste.
This two systems are related, the digestive tract eeds smooth muscles to breack down food
into liquid and for better contractions to help move them throughout the system.
Oxygen helps maintain the smoothness of muscles and to make sure that the digestive tract
is tiptop condition.
And the respiratory system cannot function well without the nutrients broken down by the
digestive system. The body uses respiratory muscles including intercorsal muscles and
duaphragm to inhale. These muscles need nutrients in the form of fat and carbohydrates o
contract and allow the lungs to breathe properly.
In other words, the digestive system metabolizes food to provide the body with nutrients and
at the same time, fuel fot the respiratory
system so that it can produce enough
oxygen for the body.
How the respiratory and circulatory
system work together, the circlatory
system is composed of the heart and
blood vessels, wich also divide into
veins, arteries, and capillaries. The
primary role of the heart is to pump blood
trough the blood vessels. In return the
blood vessels, wich are divided into four
chambers, move higly oxygenated blood
into the body through arteries. This
oxygenated blood is responsabe for
supplying all the tissues in the body with
oxygen.
The respiratory system , is composed of
the lungs, and other structures that
move air in and out of the lungs. Breathing starts from the nose or mouth and then goes
