In this assignment I will be explaining how the government supports the development
of e-business. .
Government Support
The government supports business in many ways and one way in particular that they
are very supportive of is through the internet, as it helps build interest to customers,
businesses or clients which includes the development of promotions and offers and
online services.
The government is very helpful in the sense that they provide free training to
businesses that want to go online. Business link an online resource for companies. It is a
practical website, as it provides information and advice and also funding for businesses
that need help to go online.
The government supports employees by giving them essential training for example IT,

strategy of e-commerce.
E-commerce Regulations
The E-commerce Regulations apply to businesses which sell goods or services to
businesses or consumers through a number of different ways. These can include though
the internet, by email or Short Message Service. Also the e-commerce regulation also
includes advertisement through the internet, emails or SMS. The e-commerce
regulations do not cover businesses who advertise through direct marketing by phone
or fax. The regulations specify the vital information which businesses must give to
customers when you sell online.
E-Commerce Regulations 2002
This came in action in 2002, where the EU issued instructions to all members.
Businesses who intend to trade online must take these into considerations. Online
selling and advertising is part of the laws of the UK if the trader is in the UK.
Consumer Protection Distance Selling Regulations
Distance selling means selling and buying by phone, mail order, the internet or digital
TV. Transactions are usually covered by the buying and selling legalisation, however
they are covered by Distance Selling Regulations. This act gives protection to consumers
who shop by phone, mail order or via internet.
