pharmacy after 1/1/16 are deemed to have met the hour requirement), pass
a criminal background check,
-Optometrist Prescribing - -Independent authority, limited to scope of
practice. Certified with the Board of Optometry to prescribe drugs, these
prescribers will have "T" at the END of thier license number. For codeine
containing or hydrocodone containing products--there is a max 3 day supply.
-Drug classes that generally require a MedGuide - -Antidepressants,
antipsychotics, anticonvulsants, LONG ACTING BETA AGONISTS, most
antiarrhythmics, and NSAIDS
-Patient Package Inserts - -Patient package inserts (PPIs) are dispensed with
estrogen-containing products
-Moral Convictions - -A pharmacy can refuse to hire someone that chooses
not to dispense medications based on moral convictions
