Walk me through your resume - ANS I have 11 GCSES, with a grade 9 in seven of my subjects, and
during sixth form I did 4 A levels in which I achieved 3 A*'s and an A.

During school, I took part in many finance related work experiences which made me realise that this is
the right career for me. from my finance internship at nottingham trent university, i developed my excel
skills learning things such as using pivot tables and vlookup.During my 4 months working at the Tandoor
Clay Oven limited, I learnt a lot about communicating with clients, and actually helped source the
companies current supplier for plastic containers through calling up different producers based in india
and using my hindi language skills to negotiate a price effectively.

Something that makes me really stand out is my Speech and Drama diploma with honours, which I
achieved alongside my A levels. Currently, I am about to start my second year at UCL studying
economics.

Why do you want to be a summer analyst. Why have you applied to this position - ANS I applied to this
position because I strongly believe this is the right career path for me. I have always been good at
dealing with numbers, and my economics degree involves a lot of data analysis and statistics which has
increased my attention to detail. During my internship at Nottingham Trent University's finance I
created pivot tables, data tables and used vlookup which allowed me to develop my excel skills. I found
out from this that analysing data and creating charts and graphs is something I really enjoy, which is
what made me seriously consider a career as a financial analyst. I believe this company in particular will
expose me to high-profile cases in which I can put my skills to good use, and working with some of the
top most skilled employees will provide me with the competitive nature I desire.

Why do you want to apply to Blackstone - ANS Blackstone's remarkable global reputation is what
initially attracted me to apply for this position, however on further exploration I have found so much
more that makes Blackstone special. Blackstone focuses on innovation and long-term growth and
success and has the potential to transform businesses around the world, achieving incredible results for
businesses such as Bumble and Ancestry. Something that really impressed me was Blackstone's
charitable foundation, which has a focus on entrepreneurship and job creation. It helps identify the next
high growth companies and helps them gain access to the services they need to help them prosper,
which I think is really important.

, Blackstone is a firm I have been following in the news for many years, reading about their acquisitions,
deals, and partnerships. For example, just recently Blackstone announced their acquisition of
Simplilearn, a Leading Online Learning Platform based in India.

What is your greatest strength. - ANS My greatest strengths are probably my communication skills,
mathematical skills and strong attention to detail. I have a speech and drama diploma with honours, and
in preparation for this I have years of experience in public speaking which means I have excellent
communication and interpersonal skills. As a result of this, I am great at working both in a team and
leading a team since I provide clear communication and task delegation. I obtained an A* in maths and
an A in further maths during my A levels, and my economics degree at university demands strong
mathematical and problem solving skills. I performed excellently in my maths, statistics and applied
economics module which involves data analysis and presenting data graphically, which demonstrates my
analytical skills.

What is your greatest weakness - ANS During my work experience at HSBC, my mentor gave me the
feedback that although I am good at time management, I can be a bit of a perfectionist and get bogged
down on the small details. She gave me the advice that I need to challenge my inner critic and trust my
abilities when working on a project, because somethings I can look over little details an unnecessary
number of times. I have taken this advice on board when I started university, and it has helped me
manage my stress better. In addition, when taking up leadership positions, my perfectionism means I
like all tasks delegated done to the highest of standards and exactly how I want them doing. I have
learned that in order to get a team to work the most effectively, clear communication and task
delegation is key, and checking up on people and offering them guidance on anything they might be
unsure about is extremely important. Taking this advice has allowed me to become a better leader.

What previous positions have you held, and what skills did you learn from each role - ANS I took part in
a work experience in the finance department of Nottingham Trent University, which enabled me to
develop my excel skills using vlookup and creating pivot and data tables. In addition I learnt about the 5
financial risks which gave me an insight to effective risk management. My work experience at the
Tandoor Clay Oven Limited involved categorising products under commodity codes which further
developed excel skills and widened my knowledge on intercompany transfers. In addition, I had to
communicate orders with producers in India, which developed my interpersonal skills and Hindi
language fluency. My banking work experience at HSBC gave me an introduction to the concept of
balance sheets and how both sides must balance. My work experience in Dehli at DIP india gave me an
insight to how businesses run in different countries, and put my Hindi language skills to good use when
connecting with the rest of the team.
