Accounts/Finance Department

The Finance department, in a business, is responsible for all the incomings and outgoings of a
business. This is known as cash fow. They are in charge of monitoring expenses for Staf wages, Raw materials
etc. They are one of the most important departs in a business. They plan and monitor budgets, produce cash
fow forecasts and pay bills, also known as inloices. They are responsible for receiling customer payments and
preparing accounts and fnancial statements.

The Finance department will likely share informaton with Manufacturing, in order to minimize the
cost of raw materials and maximize proft. They may use short hour contracts so workers will only be on duty
when they are needed. Because of this staf do not need the same wages as they are only paid when they are
working.

Finance will also work alongside Human Resources for Staf wages and when hiring additonal staf. If
Finance and Manufacturing were to increase the amount of short hour contracts this would be done through
Human Resources.

Human Resources Department

Human Resources, otherwise known as Personnel, is in charge of all employee-related maters. They
are responsible for the hiring and fring of employees, writng job descriptons and adlertsements to recruit
new staf. They are the ones who conduct interliews, testng the job applicants and if the applicant is
successful, HR will also arrange training for the employee.

Human Resources will work alongside Finance for Staf wages and when hiring additonal staf as their
wages are processed through Finance. If Finance and Manufacturing were to increase the amount of short
hour contracts this would be done through Human Resources.

Human Resources will also likely share informaton with Administraton as they are responsible for the
majority of paperwork in a business. Times for interliews and training will hale to be arranged with
Administraton. HR may also send suggests to improle working conditons for employees. This will hale to be
done through Administraton.

Marketing and Sales

The Marketng and Sales departments are responsible for selling the product to the customer. They
will likely match specifc products to specifc customers, carrying out market research to do so. They will
analyse their compettors in order to make a strategy to beat their competton. As they are responsible for
selling, they will ofen think of ways to persuade customers to purchase more goods or serlices. To do this the
may need to create adlertsing campaigns and check the pricing of their products.
