Interviewer
What I did well as the interviewer was that I was prepared. I reviewed the candidate’s cover
letter, curriculum vitae and background inoorm aion so that I can ask them relevant
quesions tailored oor the individual. tt the beginning oo the interview, I gave a oorm al
handshake oor confdence and a sm ile to m ake them com oortable. I m ade sure the quesions
I asked were well phrased - I spoke clearly, oorm ally and loud enough oor them to hear. One
oo the quesions I asked the interviewee was “What skills can you contribute to this job?” I
gave them im e to answer the quesion and did not rush them at all. His reply was “I have an
extensive level oo skills which I can contribute to this job – this includes I.T Skills and
personal skills such as confdence, paience and organised. tfer the interviewee had a
chance to answer, I expanded on his response by asking him “What I.T skills do you have?”
He then said “I’m good convering docum ents on paper onto sofware such as Word,
PowerPoint and Excel. In addiion, I am also a type oaster”. Whilst the interviewee was
speaking, I m ade sure to right down notes. I did this so I can rem em ber what was said – this
m ethod is very efcient. tfer I had fnished asking the interview quesions, I asked the
interviewee io he had any quesions. I done this to give the interviewee a chance to show an
interest in the posiion or the com pany. tlso this ensure that the interviewee is the right
candidate oor the job. In this case, he didn’t have any quesions so this concluded the
interview. I gave the interviewee a handshake and wished them all the best.
My strengths oo being an interviewer I was that I spoke naturally, oorm ally and m ade
everything flow. I was also told orom the exam iner that m y body language was good and I
looked relaxed which m ade the interviewee oeel at ease. The weakness oo being the
interviewer was that there was not enough contact between m e and the interviewee. Due
to the oact that I was wriing the answers the interviewee gave, I was constantly looking
down at m y paper. For outure reoerence, I will write the notes in bullet point oorm at as this
will be the m ost efcient m ethod.
Interviewee
I prepared oor the interview by doing research about the organisaion. I m ade sure that I
knew the m ost aspects about the organisaion so I could ask a quesion at the end.
ts an interviewee I m ade sure that I arrived 5 m inutes early. I did this to prepare and calm
m yselo beoore the interview. When I entered the interview room , I shook the interviewer’s
hand – I m ade sure m y handshake was frm because it shows a sign oo confdence. The
interviewer requested oor m y docum ents, which I had pre-prepared in a plasic wallet. Each
oo these docum ents it im portant oor diferent reasons, som e oo the docum ents were:
Evcaucte the usefuaness of the nocuments in the interview pcck for c given orgcniscton
Job Appaiccton is a oorm or paper, which indicates interest in a paricular place oo
em ploym ent or positon within a com pany. Typically requests personal idenifcaion
inoorm aion, such as nam e, address and phone num ber as well as history oo job experience.

, The job applicaion m akes it easier to HR to com pare applicaions orom data inoorm aion
am ongst candidates. When conducing an interview, it can help the interviewer to ask
quesions related to applicants’ experience, past achievem ents, qualifcaions etc.
Curricuaum Vitce (CV) m akes it easy oor em ployers to idenioy potenial candidates. It allows
you to provide clear details oo your qualifcaions, work history and responsibiliies, which
m atch the criteria provided in the job descripion. The CV helps the HR to know a bit about
the candidate’s background, work history and qualifcaions.
Cover aeter is an introducion to an em ployer to show your interest in the posiion. It allows
you to personalise and highlight key areas oo your CV in m ore depth. The cover letter helps
the HR to know why the candidate is interested in the job and the skills and attributes they
can bring to job.
In m y cover letter, it entailed m y interest in the job and why I would be the best candidate
oor the job. I also listed out m y skills, attributes and experience. Som e oo the things I said
were ‘I have worked as a Departm ent tdm inistrator previously in a prim ary school oor the
last two years where I gained extensive experience oo processing and logging student
grades, liaising with outside organisaions and arranging staf m eeings’. From this the
interviewer could see m y experiences and based the interview quesions on it. The
interviewer introduced herselo and politely asked m e how I oelt which I replied back with
“very well thank you”. The quesions asked by the interviewer were m ostly opened
quesions. I m ade sure I answered every quesion clearly, oorm ally and loud enough oor the
interviewer to hear. In total the interviewer asked 8 quesions and oor each oo them I m ade
sure I replayed in a m anner which attracted the interviewer. ts I was answering the
quesions, the interviewer wrote down som e notes, she done this so she can rem em ber
what I said.
My strengths oo being the interviewee were m y responses were well structured and alm ost
exact to what they wanted to hear. I spoke clearly, oorm ally and loud enough oor the
interviewer to here. My observer also said that I was dressed appropriately and m y body
language showed that I had confdence. My weakness was I didn’t sm ile enough and that I
looked ‘too serious’. Sm iling shows a sign oo confdence and oriendliness – this trait is
im portant in this work place.

process
For the interview, I had to dress in a oorm al atre – I wore a blazer, a pencil skirt and a pair
oo loaoers. This atre was diferent to what I usually wear to college.
Beoore the interview, I prepared with som e oo m y oriends oo what to say when it cam e to the
real interview. Doing this helped m e build m y confdence and m ake m e less nervous this.
For outure purpose, I would know to always pracise beoore the interview even io it’s only oor
a couple oo m inutes – this would really help m e during an interview. For the interview, I had
to prepare actual docum ents I would use oor a real interview, oor exam ple a CV, cover letter,
job applicaion etc. I had to m ake these docum ents as io I was part taking in actual interview.
