The Chailod eurfew sehaeme is a seheme that applies to ehildren under 10s and stops them from being in eertain
plaees alone between 9pm and 6am. The poliee are allowed to remove ehildren who are breaehing the seheme
and takee them home or somewhere safe. In lots of easess soeial serviees beeome involved too. Truaney rders
are designed to support young people baeke into an edueaton. It is believed that truaneys without interventons
is a reason why young people will reiofend in the future. If these measures don’t workes the Youth Ofending
Team will use other strategies as preieourt measures. These inelude a reprimand; a formals verbal warning
given by the poliee to the young persons providing they admit they are guilty and it is a minor frst ofenee.
Sometmess the young person will worke with the Youth Ofending Team through a voluntary seheme to help
address their behaviour. A finalo warninl is a formal verbal warning given by the poliee to a young person who
has admited to their frst or seeond ofenee. With a fnal warnings the young person is assessed to determine
the eause of their behaviours and they must undergo a seheme of aetvites to address these. This gives young
ofenders have a fnal ehanee to ehange their behaviour. If the seheme is unsueeessfuls any future ofenees will
be dealt with by the eourt.

Intended to eontrol he nuisanee elements in a eommunitys ASBOs are put in plaee to improve the quality of life
for all other residents. The orders usually last for a minimum of two years and eontain eertain eonditons whieh
