, INTRODUCTION
“Every man is more than just himself; he also represents the unique, the very special
and always significant and remarkable point at which the world's phenomena intersect, only
once in this way and never again. That is why every man's story is important, eternal, sacred;
that is why every man, as long as he lives and fulfills the will of nature, is wondrous, and
worthy of every consideration”

Hermann Hesse, “Demian”

Dear readers, our peers and teachers, who read this diary, don’t be scared by the number of pages it
contains. We know you are busy and tired and we are not meant for you to suffer while going through our
long-winded reflections.

Thus, we put a great effort to structure the diary in a way that you can easily navigate through and read
the parts you are mostly interested in, while skimming the others. In the end of each section, there is a
summary with the key points and findings learnt in the class and in group discussions.

We suppose this diary to be our own “mental health pocket book” and want it to contain as much
information as we might need for the future to refresh our knowledge before the mental health practice.

2 NOVEMBER. Orientation
“To that one soul reading this: I know you’re tired, you’re fed up, you’re close to
breaking, but there’s strength within you, even when you feel weak. Keep fighting.”

in other health problems. Patients should not hesitate to contact the healthcare professionals in case of
mental health problem. Contacting healthcare professional is a great way to address mental health
problems but in some cultures, this is a taboo.

At the same time, we believe that some level of anxiety and stress should not be immediately considered
as a mental health problem, but rather a part of human’s life. Hard work and some level of stress should
